Deprovisioned devices stay in the list as retired. To reuse hardware, open that row and re-provision (do not create a second device with the same serial/MAC — the API enforces a unique identity).

POST /api/v1/device/enroll on the device (no Bearer). See vt-vimond-poc-api docs/provisioning-api.md (Re-provisioning after deprovision).
POST /api/v1/device/enroll (serial, MAC, bootstrap credential). Do not use Create device for the same serial/MAC.
Bootstrap secret for POST /api/v1/device/enroll. You can set or replace it at any time; the device must use the latest saved secret on the next enroll.
For retired devices you can assign a tunnel before re-enroll if the API allows it; enrollment may also return gateway/tunnel fields.
Assign a gateway tunnel and port for device connectivity. Create tunnel definitions under Tunnels first.
Enrollment normally issues the leaf certificate. Use Issue certificate to recover if enrollment or issuance failed partway. Revoke invalidates the current certificate.
Creates a new config bundle for the device to fetch. Use for recovery or updates; the happy path normally provisions config at enrollment. C2PA assertions are edited below.

Pre-register a new identity. Serial + MAC are unique in the database — if this hardware was registered before (including retired), open that device and re-provision instead of creating again.
